In a really bad place at the minute.

I am really struggling at the minute. My exercise motivation is low at present and for the last week or so so is my willpower. I am finding it SO hard to stick to my diet. I am so bloody hungry and feel like I am surrounded by foods I cannot eat. I know I can eat them if I wanted to (and believe me, I do) but that is what has gotten me to this in the first place and by giving in and doing it, I am going to lose the ground I have gained (12kg weight-loss & feeling better about myself).

I honest believe that it was easier to quit smoking than it has been to diet.

Back from holiday and back to the diet

Well I have returned from my hols and resumed my diet. Just before I left, I decided to join a local club (Slimming World) because I was finding myself so hungry the last few weeks. I have to admit that the preparation for this diet plan is colossal. Everything seems to take ages to prep, which when I go back to work next week isn’t going to be feasible. I have therefore invested in a food processor and a food vacuum sealer machine in order to prep things way in advance to reduce my tendency to say “stuff it” and break my diet.

I have lost another 1kg (2lbs) making my weight loss a mammoth 13kgs (29lbs). I am so pleased with this, I can’t tell you. I have never succeeded with any sustained diet and exercise this long before or lost this much weight intentionally! I just hope I can keep this up. Best wishes to all the the other dieting bloggers on the site. ;)

I’m back!

Well, it’s been a couple of weeks since I have had time to log on. I hit a plateau with my weight loss, had a couple of ‘off’ days from the diet and had my thyroid meds increased. However, with my usual flare, I have bounced back with a further 2 kg weight loss. I have now reached 12kgs loss (26lbs).

I am so chuffed with myself. I have taken to cycling to work, which is no mean feat as I work almost 13 hr shifts on my feet as a RGN on an extremely busy acute medical ward. But I am determined and this is the longest that I have EVER stuck with a diet and exercise regimen.

Kudos to the awesome buddy Jackz for your unwavering support. The booster notes are brill. x

WTF, I mean who gets flu in September?!

My darling son decided to be generous and share his germs with his dear old mum! Flu, in September! I mean, I can’t go to work, exercise because I feel dog rough. 4 days I’ve been out of action now & I’m fed up. I want to go swimming again. I want to feel normal again.

One positive note is that I haven’t gained any weight!

Smaller and smaller I become!

I am so pleased. I have lost a further 3ish lbs (10kgs in total now). This brings my weight to respectable 110kgs (243lbs) now. I have joined a gym in the last fortnight and continue to go whenever I have some spare time.

I have been in the gym today. I did 15 mins on the treadmill at 5.3 kms p/h at 4% gradient. I the cycled 4kms on the recumbent bike, finishing off the session with some reps on designated machines planned by my personal trainer at the gym. I later went back in the afternoon with the kids and swam 50 lengths of the pool, finishing off with a sauna, steam room and jacuzzi. I’m really getting used to this way of life now. I just hope and pray that I don’t slip into my old habits and return to my old lifestyle.

I just have to focus on my goal - “I don’t want to be fat by the time I am 40.” I have 17 months to achieve this goal. All I need is the will power to stay the course.

First mini goal reached!

I am so chuffed today as I reached my first buddy-slim mini goal today!!!! I have amended it to a new goal. I have also joined one of my local gym/health clubs in order to start exercising properly as well as enjoying the additional benefits such as the pool, sauna, steam room and jacuzzi!

For the record, I tried the jacuzzi for the first time on Thursday and it was out of this world. I heartily recommend it to any one who is dieting as a treat to yourself (providing you are not advised medically from using them). It boosted me up no end after my workout and swim.

Here’s to 230lbs, my next mini goal.

Keeps getting better and better

Yippee, more weight loss. Weighed myself today and have reached 249 lbs!!!!

Am I mad?

Well, I finished my 12 & 1/2 hour shift and then proceeded to go swimming with my daughter, who is also trying to lose weight. We did 20 laps (500 metres) at a steady/moderate speed. Well, just time for a quick cuppa and write today’s blog and then bed ready for tonight’s shift.

Exercise Log

My day just got a whole lot brighter!

Well, after a really crappy 13 & 1/2 hour shift yesterday with only two 20 minutes breaks, I had a lovely sleep and just got up and getting prepared for my night shift tonight. However, I decided to weigh in and to my delight, I discovered that I have lost yet another 2lbs (I weigh in Kgs but convert for here, so 1kg weight-loss).

I am so pumped. It just seems to be falling off. I am now at the same weight I was the last time I seriously knuckled down and dieted 2yrs back when I originally join buddyslim. I just hope I can keep up this momentum and stay focused and not spin out of that revolving door. I am going to go swimming straight after work when I finish tomorrow morning.

Hope everyone else is doing well today and if not, shake it off guys and try again, You’ll be okay!

back on the merry-go-round

Well as the title of the blog says, back on the merry-go-round of weight-loss. I have managed to lose 11lbs yippee! Let’s hope I can maintain the loss this time.
